CrossLoop CrossLoop Free Remote Control Software
CrossLoop simplifies the process of securely working with friends located
in different physical locations and across different network environments.
CrossLoop enables you to see the screen and control the mouse and keyboard on a
remote computer. It is as if you are working side by side at the same PC. You
can get up and running with CrossLoop in under 2 minutes. Simply download and
install the application and it will automatically configure itself to your
network environment.
WhoCrashed WhoCrashed Free Crash Dump File Reader
When a system crashes, it usually leaves behind something called a “crash
dump”. This crash dump contains information about what happened. However, in
order to read it on a system you need to download and install Microsofts
debugging tools, its dependancies called “symbols” and run some commands.
WhoCrashed is designed to read the crash dump files with a single click. Just
open it, press “Analyze” and it will tell you what driver/hardware caused the
problem. While it wont tell you exactly what happened, it lists a hardware error
message or a driver file that failed which you can Google and find the cause.
Drivermax Drivermax package for managing drivers
Drivermax is a freeware application designed to be a complete package for
managing drivers. It has the ability to import and export drivers, check for
driver updates, identify unknown hardware and show detailed hardware
information. Best of all, if you are working with a system and dont have the
driver CD for it, it’ll scan to see what drivers are needed and provide you with
the direct download link to it. All of the drivers they have on file (99,726 at
the time of this article) are stored on their servers so you dont have to worry
about broken links or manufacturers going broke and disappearing. To top it all
off, it will install them for you. As you can imagine, this would be useful to
use on a system you are about to format but it is also handy to keep on a system
long term as it can run in the background checking for driver updates every now
and then and automatically update for you. The only downside of this application
is you have you sign up for an account with Drivermax and enter a registration
key, both are free, its just taking the time to do it. Aside from that, its a
great all-in-one tool to manage any driver problems.

SpeedFan Speed Fan Hardware Monitor
SpeedFan is a program that monitors voltages, fan speeds and temperatures
in computers with hardware monitor chips. SpeedFan can even access S.M.A.R.T.
info and show hard disk temperatures. SpeedFan supports SCSI disks too. SpeedFan
can even change the FSB on some hardware (but this should be considered a bonus
feature). SpeedFan can access digital temperature sensors and can change fan
speeds accordingly, thus reducing noise. SpeedFan can find almost any hardware
monitor chip connected to the 2-wire SMBus (System Management Bus (trademark
belonging to SMIF, Inc.), a subset of the I2C protocol) and works fine with
Windows 9x, ME, NT, 2000, 2003, XP and Windows Vista. It works with Windows 64
bit too.
SmitFraudFix Malware/Spyware Removal
SmitFraudFix is a free, stand alone utility designed to remove resilient
hijack malware. There are many types of malware out there that your standard
antivirus and antispyware products cannot remove because its files are in use or
as soon as one of the malware files is deleted, another part recreates it. I
personally use this tool a lot when clients computers are infected with those
fake antiviruses which are hard to remove (eg. VirusBlast, AntiSpyCheck,
TitanShield Antispyware, WinAntiSpyPro etc). This tool is essential for any

WinSock XP Fix WinSock XP Fix
WinSock XP Fix offers a last resort if your Internet connectivity has been corrupted due to invalid or removed registry entries. It can often cure the problem of lost connections after the removal of Adware components or improper uninstall of firewall applications or other tools that modify the XP network and Winsock settings. Cobian Cobian Backup
Cobian Backup is a multi-threaded program that can be used to schedule and backup your files and directories from their original location to other directories/drives in the same computer or other computer in your network. FTP backup is also supported in both directions (download and upload).
Cobian Backup exists in two different versions: application and service. The program uses very few resources and can be running on the background on your system, checking your backup schedule and executing your backups when necessary.
Cobian Backup is not an usual backup application: it only copies your files and folders in original or compressed mode to other destination, creating a security copy as a result. So Cobian Backup can be better described as a "Scheduler for security copies". Cobian Backup supports several methods of compression and strong encryption.

ProduKey product keys of Microsoft operating systems
ProduKey is a portable free application designed to show you the product keys of Microsoft operating systems and popular software like Microsoft Office, Exchange Server and SQL Server. This feature is handy but we have seen similar functionality in old repair tools of the week like Magical Jellybean Key Finder. However, Produkey has a nice feature for us computer technicians. It has the ability to get the keys off another harddrive or even from another computer over the network.
Imagine this situation. A client brings in a computer that has a copy of Windows XP on it that isnt booting. You determine that some critical Windows files are corrupt and it needs a format. However, the client lost their disk and the license key.
No problems. Install their harddrive into one of your systems, fire up ProduKey and point it to the second hard drive and wham bam, you have their Windows license key.
NetSetMan NetSetMan Change your computers network settings quickly
NetSetMan is a small freeware tool designed to allow you to change your computers network settings quickly and easily. Lets say you take a laptop onsite for network related jobs but at home you have a special setup. Then you go onsite and have to keep changing it to “Obtain Automatically” so it works on the clients network. Once you return home, you have to set it all back to the way it was. This is where NetSetMan comes in, it allows you to make network setting profiles which you can activate based on your location. For example, you may have one setup for your home, one for work and one for when you are on a public wireless access point.

This tool is a must have for any technician supporting wireless networks for clients.

Network Stumbler is a free utility designed for finding wireless access points and logging their signal strength. This tool can be used for finding the best location for a wireless access point, finding a location with a strong signal for the connecting device and to find the existence of wireless access points, even if the device has its SSID beacon turned off. The desktop version supports most wireless cards and can manage the information gathered in many ways. You can sort by access point name, signal strength, brand, open or locked, time of discovery and the wireless device type (AP or Ad-Hoc). An excellent tool for those setting up, managing or repairing wireless networking setups.
